"The Board"

At youth group this week the leader got serious on the youth. It was good. I pray that it hit them and stuck with them (and will continue to pray this, as I see the different struggles happening individually within the room). She showed a video called "The Board" which was made by a church in the United States. It was based on a sermon by the pastor, but then the congregation (who is filled with very talented people in terms of the arts) created a movie to help those struggling with choices...and one particular important choice we all have/do struggle[d] with.

On their website it describes it as this: A dilemma is posed and a battle ensues. One-by-one the power brokers of the soul – Mind, Memory, Emotion, Heart, Will, and Conscience – step forward to weigh in. The stakes couldn’t be higher. The outcome has consequences for eternity…

I can't even tell you how much this movie opened my eyes to some of the choices I have been making, and have made, and now for the choices that are in front of me...and realizing just how much thought process it takes...and JUST how complicated it is! I think to the decision of going to the Czech Republic, where my logic (aka. my Mind) was telling me not to do it, but my Heart was telling me to go. In the end, my Will made the decision to go, but as they talk about in the movie, it was because of a 'majority-rules' mentality. Now that things are coming together, all 'board members' are 'on board' (yes, pun-intended). However, there is one decision that you require all board members to have a consensus, and that's is the decision to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, and therefore 'head' of the board room (your life!).
I suggest that you watch this movie if you haven't seen it. I'm not sure where you can get it, but try to get a hold of it somehow...because I think it's relevant to all of our lives. And at the end you get to ask yourself two very important questions:
1. In your own personal 'board room' - is everyone happy?
2. Is Jesus at the head of your board?
This movie is "The inside story of one human soul…wrestling with the ultimate decision."
