Back on Track...

Well, my positive attitude has returned!! Thank goodness!...

...Last week was a struggle but God gave me lots of things to focus on and to keep me going!

First was the basketball team at the school, which I'm helping out with. We had a tournament that went Wednesday/Thursday, and we came in 2nd place out of 8 teams! Go us! As much as I don't play basketball anymore, and haven't really played in years, it was a thrill to be leading them and helping out. We played our best game Thursday to get to the finals, but lost in the championship game. It was still a great effort and was lots of fun.

On Friday, probably the best day of last week, the French rotary teacher and I were talking and she made some comments that just made sense to me about why my class is out of control. Pretty much, to sum it up, it's all a reflection on how much control the teacher has, and is not a reflection of the students or parents. She ended our conversation by saying not to worry and that "we all love you here" - so that was a positive thing for me to hear, and kept my spirits up for the day. Not to mention, the kids were FABULOUS on Friday, which was totally weird. I hope it continues as I'm being marked on Monday by my advisor. They weren't that great with my associate on Friday, but when I was teaching they were pretty attentive, with some of their regular shenanigans - but nothing too wild.

After school, I booted it out of there, as my cousin was in town competing in a gymnastics qualifier for the Ontario Championships (she's 10). I, unfortunately, missed her routines but was able to see the medal ceremony and she came in 3rd place overall!! (in ALL of Ontario!) How fabulous. Anyways, we went out to dinner (mmmm, Harvey's) and at the end of the dinner my cousin Bonnie (the mom of the one competing) gave me some money to go towards my trip as spending money (it's an advance for the babysitting I'm doing for them in June). It was so sweet of her!

God has been so amazing with all the people praying for me, lifting me up with words of encouragement, and just showing His amazing grace to me through this past week. Thank you if you were one of those people.

Lastly, and the most important one at this point - is that I got an e-mail today from one of the professors I e-mailed asking for a reference - and he agreed!! YAY! I'm still going to try to get at least one more...and then I have some others in mind that will be able to serve as references for me hopefully! Now, to start working on the application form!

Okay, I'm going to leave it at that for now.

1 Peter 1:8 says - "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy."
