I actually had the privilege of sitting outside with my new housemate (she's just there for the summer, so I won't really be a housemate with her since I am currently sitting on the train leaving my Windsor home) this past week and talking about faith and religion with her. I know I probably could've spoken the word better, but it was still a neat experience. She was asking a lot about how Christianity differed from other religions, and I couldn't fully answer them as I don't know the history behind every religion - considering that I'm trying to focus and learn everything about Christianity, let alone all the other types of religions in this world! Minus the fact that I got a burn while this conversation occurred, it opened up a crack of interest - and I kind of wish I would be around to keep knocking at that door until it was finally open. But God has me heading to knock on some foreign doors very soon! (teehee)
Anyways, I also completed writing all my 'thank you' letters to those that sponsored me individually, and two of those people happened to be my housemates for the past year. One of them definitely doesn't have faith in their life, and the other one seems to know a lot about Christianity/Catholicism but doesn't necessarily practice it. Anyways, in each of my letters I wrote my focus verse for my mission trip at the end, and thanked them for their support, as well as referred them to my Mission blog. So, there are some more doors that can be opened, as I plan on being very straight to the point and honest in my Mission blog about how God is working and what is going on - so hopefully will make them interested and raise some eyebrows to the topic of religion.
So, this trip is proving to be amazing, and I haven't even left yet! ha! This is just the beginning....
1 Corinthians 12:6
"God works through different men in different ways, but it is
the same God who accomplishes his goals through them all."
Colleen, have a great trip, God's full blessing as you minister and are ministered to. Scott
